Opfindelsen af lynradar g\u00e5r tilbage til 1940, hvor Robert Watson-Watt i Storbritannien udviklede det f\u00f8rste system, der var i stand til at lokalisere lyn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Radaren var baseret p\u00e5 princippet om nattesyn og var dermed i stand til at registrere lyn inden for en radius af flere hundrede kilometer. I de f\u00f8lgende \u00e5r blev systemet videreudviklet og forbedret, s\u00e5 det i dag er i stand til at registrere n\u00e6sten ethvert lyn inden for en radius af omkring 800 kilometer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Hvordan fungerer et lynnedslagskort?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Hvis du nogensinde har set et tordenvejr, har du m\u00e5ske bem\u00e6rket, at tordenen ofte kommer f\u00e5 sekunder efter lynet. Det skyldes lydens hastighed, som er omkring 340 meter i sekundet. Lysets hastighed er derimod uendelig h\u00f8j.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Af denne grund kan lynradar bruges til at bestemme den n\u00f8jagtige placering af tordenvejret. Radaren sender en str\u00e5le af elektromagnetiske b\u00f8lger ud i atmosf\u00e6ren og modtager det ekko, der reflekteres tilbage fra regndr\u00e5berne eller ispartiklerne. Radaren kan ud fra signalets rejsetid beregne, hvor langt v\u00e6k tordenvejret er. S\u00e5 en lynradar er ikke andet end en <a href=\"https:\/\/weather-radar24.com\/da\/\">vejrradar<\/a> specielt designet til at lede efter tordenvejr.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Hvordan finder et lynnedslagskort, hvor lynet vil sl\u00e5 ned?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lynplacering er bestemmelsen af lynets position i realtid. Den mest almindelige metode til lynplacering er triangulering, hvor tre eller flere modtagere time strejken og sender deres positioner til en central computer. Dette beregner derefter lynets position. Lynplacering kan ogs\u00e5 bruges til at bestemme placeringen af tordenvejr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Fordi lynet er meget hurtigt, kan det ofte ikke ses af \u00f8jet. De mest almindelige typer lyn er sky-til-jord lyn, tordenvejr og vejr lyn.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Hvor varmt er lynet i gennemsnit?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Hvis du nogensinde har undret dig over, hvor varmt lyn er, er du ikke alene. Eksperter er dog enige om, at lynets temperatur er omkring 30.000 grader Fahrenheit. Dette er omkring fem gange varmere end solens overflade!<\/p>\n<h3>What Does Lightning Usually Strike?<\/h3>\n<p>Lightning comes from a parent cumulonimbus cloud. These thunderstorm clouds are formed wherever there is enough upward motion, instability in the vertical, and moisture to produce a deep cloud that reaches up to levels somewhat colder than freezing.<\/p>\n<p>These conditions are most often met in summer. In general, the U.S. mainland has a decreasing amount of lightning toward the northwest. Over the entire year, the highest frequency of cloud-to-ground lightning is in Florida between Tampa and Orlando. This is due to the presence, on many days during the year, of a large moisture content in the atmosphere at low levels (below 5,000 feet), as well as high surface temperatures that produce strong sea breezes along the Florida coasts.<\/p>\n<p>The western mountains of the United States also produce strong upward motions and contribute to frequent cloud-to-ground lightning. There are also high frequencies along the Gulf of Mexico coast westward to Texas, the Atlantic coast in the southeast United States, and inland from the Gulf. Regions along the Pacific west coast have the least cloud-to-ground lightning.<\/p>\n<p>Flashes that do not strike the surface are called cloud flashes. They may be inside a cloud, travel from one part of a cloud to another, or from cloud to air.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Hvor forekommer lynet oftest i verden?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">I princippet opst\u00e5r den h\u00f8jeste t\u00e6thed af lyn, hvor varme og kolde luftmasser m\u00f8des, alts\u00e5 i tropernes kystomr\u00e5der. Men hvis vi ikke ser p\u00e5 hele jorden, men begr\u00e6nser os til landomr\u00e5der, er Sydamerika frontl\u00f8ber \u2013 langtfra.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Kan der v\u00e6re lyn uden torden?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Mange tror, at det altid tordner, n\u00e5r der lyner. Men det er ikke altid sandt! Det kan ogs\u00e5 ske, at det blinker uden at tordne. Man kan ofte ikke h\u00f8re tordenen, hvis lynet er s\u00e6rligt langt v\u00e6k.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Luften er simpelthen for tyk til, at lyden kan forplante sig godt.<\/p>\n<h3>Can Lightning Be Detected?<\/h3>\n<p>Since the 1980s, cloud-to-ground lightning flashes have been detected and mapped in real time across the entire United States by several networks. Flashes have also been detected from space during the past few years by an optical sensor. This experimental satellite covers the earth twice a day in tropical regions. The satellite also detects flashes that do not strike the ground, but cannot tell the difference between ground strikes and cloud flashes.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Hvor farligt er lyn?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lyn er en af naturens farligste kr\u00e6fter. Hvert \u00e5r d\u00f8r i gennemsnit 24.000 mennesker som f\u00f8lge af direkte eller indirekte kontakt med et lynnedslag. Risikoen for at blive ramt af lynet er dog relativt lav.<\/p>\n<h3>What Types of Damage Can Lightning Cause?<\/h3>\n<p>Cloud-to-ground lightning can kill or injure people by direct or indirect means. The lightning current can branch off to a person from a tree, fence, pole, or other tall object. It is not known if all people are killed who are directly struck by the flash itself. In addition, flashes may conduct their current through the ground to a person after the flash strikes a nearby tree, antenna, or other tall object. The current also may travel through power or telephone lines, or plumbing pipes to a person who is in contact with an electric appliance, telephone, or plumbing fixture.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, objects can be directly struck and this impact may result in an explosion, burn, or total destruction. Or, the damage may be indirect when the current passes through or near it. Sometimes, current may enter a building and transfer through wires or plumbing and damage everything in its path. Similarly, in urban areas, it may strike a pole or tree and the current then travels to several nearby houses and other structures and enter them through wiring or plumbing.<\/p>\n<h3>What Causes Lightning?<\/h3>\n<p>Lightning originates around 15,000 to 25,000 feet above sea level when raindrops are carried upward until some of them convert to ice. For reasons that are not widely agreed upon, a cloud-to-ground lightning flash originates in this mixed water and ice region. The charge then moves downward in 50-yard sections called step leaders. It keeps moving toward the ground in these steps and produces a channel along which charge is deposited. Eventually, it encounters something on the ground that is a good connection. The circuit is complete at that time, and the charge is lowered from cloud to ground.<\/p>\n<p>The flow of charge (current) produces a luminosity that is very much brighter than the part that came down.
